From February 15th to February 17th 2016 I will be at DevNexus 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a developer conference relating to many different technologies such as Java, Node.js, and the mobile platforms.
I will be giving several talks at DevNexus including a workshop. My workshop is titled Traveling with a NoSQL Database, a Full Stack Java Adventure and it will include technologies like Java, Spring Boot, AngularJS, and NoSQL. In it we’ll see how to create an API using Java and Couchbase that can be accessed via a standalone AngularJS front-end.
My other talks titled NoSQL and the Bridge Between and Create Scalable and Secure Mobile Apps that Work Offline will be slightly different.
In my NoSQL talk I’ll focus on the differences between the various NoSQL databases and how to model your data using a NoSQL document database. We’ll take it a step further and show how to query the NoSQL data using a SQL-like language similar to that in a relational database such as MySQL.
My mobile talk will focus on offline-first development using local data that synchronizes to a remote database when the internet is available.
If you’re in the area and want to register for DevNexus, I recommend it. I’ve spoken at a similar event by the same organizers and it was probably the best I’ve been to.
If you’re in the area and not going to the conference, ping me on Twitter when the time comes.
